We live separately now although we spend the night at each other's places sometimes. But neither of us has a key to the other's place. Now that I'm about to buy a new home, he wants to move together and give up his place. I have made sure that I can afford the house without his help. He's cheated on me a couple of times before so I can't say for sure that either of us is ready for marriage. But if something happens and he gives up his place, he will have nowhere to go.
