The best way I've found to decorate when money is tight is decide on colors first, then as the months go by you can find a bargain here and there and grab anything that goes in the color scheme. Ultimately everything will go together if you buy with certain colors in mind.
Cappuccino being brown is pretty neutral. Try dark brown, cream and a dusty blue for accents. (think Cape Cod) with white painted furniture (which you can do yourself to stuff you already have) and a tiny splash of bright red in a throw or a flower arrangement. Or go warmer with dark brown, amber, and bergundy (autumnal) and use chunky ornate furniture and wrought iron (or painted black) accents with soft brown walls. You could blend the dark brown with a pale gray in two shades light and dark, for an urban modern look, then everything stainless steel and sleek is nice with it. Add down lights with vibrant blue glass shades over a table- it plays off the gray and brown and will pull them together.
