Brak wants to know, ';Why most people in new houses leave their walls white';?

Why don't a lot of people get colorful and whatever.

And why not put up wallpaper

I live in a house that just turned 5 months old and we have all white walls. I think it could use a little color. But Mom %26amp; Dad like it all white.Brak wants to know, ';Why most people in new houses leave their walls white';?
White has a good selling point, when your ready to sell your house. I suggest taking that blue color you think is so cool and paint it a neutral color. This leaves the market open for majority of people to buy.First image is everything

White is a color that accepted by most people, though when i remodel a house i suggest somethign that is little more than white but not far from it, kinda like antique or light yellow mixed in. natural colors are easier to mix than darker ones, so with that said, White being not only the most accepted color its the cheapest. And perhaps why most people leave it like that is because its paid for, paint cost money, time and aggrivation. Wall paper is a hastle, and really should only be left to certain rooms, but only as borders and installed by intelligence. Installation isn't exactly hard, but problem it is like paint, every novice thinks they can do it. Making it look really horrible, and wallpaper is a hastle to remove, very very painstaking work..

My advice leave the wallpaper to minimum if any at all, and keep with neutral colors. If you want to add color, buy a canvased picture, or purchase some fresh flowers...its easy to change and no contractor or mess required

Kraze..Brak wants to know, ';Why most people in new houses leave their walls white';?
I think white walls are a good idea. It's like having a blank canvas to work. You can do whatever you want with it....any color furniture will match with white. Or if the owner chooses, they can easily paint over white paint with any color paint they choose. You can have any color drapes and carpets, right?
White goes with any thing.ayou have many options........I would tel you a pretty color but:::::::::::::::::since you hate Hillary, I'll kkeep it to myself.
white has has always been deemed the best color for new houses it usally makes the rooms look bigger
OLDER PEOPLE THINK WHITE LOOKS CLEANER BUT COLOR MAKE IT FEEL HOMEY AND WARM
it's less work
I am just guessing because I think it is a personal thing ... but white is a pure color and when clean makes everything look fresh and new.

Once a room has been exposed to various amounts of sunlight, smoke, dust, pollutants ... etc ... it needs to be repainted and generally that is when a person trys to match their walls with the colors of their furniture or theme's they have conjured up in their heads.
Oh, that figures, so you still live with Mom and Dad ??? Your symbol of hate, is not nice. Evidently your young and don't realize what you have put together. Then to continually dog on Obama . Shame on you. Try something more civil then what your doing. Did you learn that from Mom and Dad ? Is this what your parents taught you, or do you hide in one of their closets and secretly present the negative ?
People like white for wall colors. It makes the house look modern. Although wallpaper and wallcolors beautify rooms to fit a certain mood. light colors are usually relaxing and white is the lightest you can get. A lot of people want to keep their home new looking and relaxing.
Well, white is just the generic color they use because they don't know what colors you'll be decorating with. Also, it makes the house look roomier. Personally, I like lots of colors too. Your parents probably prefer white because that was a more common wall color in their day. However, it's your house and you have to look at those walls every day so go with what you like. I'll bet your parents will love it! They just haven't been exposed to it yet. For instance, my friend put a dark green on her walls - a color I would never have dared put up. Well, with all the wood trim in her house, it makes that room look so warm and inviting. Go for it, hon!
