I have been around a while and I don't recommend what you suggest. I'd be sure I had a bed, dresser or chest, bedding, and stuff for the bathroom. I would have a place to sit and eat, even if it's on the sofa. A place to sit and relax. A TV and/or radio, and an alarm clock. I'd have enough cookware, utensils, and dishes for me and maybe a friend. Be sure you have something to cover the windows if there are not blinds, etc.

After you move in, look around. What will fit in your new space? What style do you like and will complement the space? How much space do you have for storing things in the kitchen, bathroom, etc. Now you can make decisions on what you really need and what you want, and what will fit into your new space and lifestyle.

Good luck! Life's a blast!
