Our cat Moosie being attacked by his brother. Help! We have 7 cats & just moved into new house.?
Moosie has always been the ';weanie'; of the group and often picked on by a couple of the other cats. They are all indoor cats and we are in coyote territory, so they have to remain indoors. Since the move, there have been a few serious incidents of attack, mainly by his brother Freddie. Right now we are isolating Moosie in one room to protect him, but he is very unhappy. We have never been able to pick him up or hold him as he was born ferral and was traumatized early on. We want to let him out of isolation, but are afraid he will be attacked again. We are using Feliway spray %26amp; diffusers. Any suggestions on addressing the aggressive behavior of the other cats are welcome!!Our cat Moosie being attacked by his brother. Help! Sounds like Freddie is trying to Dominate Moosie (cute name btw). Try getting an alternate litter box for Moosie and keeping it away from Freddie's. Some times cats are really particular about litter boxes and territory if they want to be top on the totem pole.
If I was you, I'd let Moosie out and isolate Freddie. Isolation is punishment for animals, why punish the one whos being attacked, and let the attacker be free? Eventually they'll stop fighting so much, just give it some time.
You might try isolating Freddie instead of Moosie. If you can put a couple drops of vinella on each of their hind ends close to the base of the tail. That will help equalize their scents. Maybe put it on all the cats. It is probably an emotional outbreak due to the change. Also, if you can get Freddie to sleep on a towel or small blanket and then rub Moosie with it after Freddie has used it long enough to leave his scent on it. You can also keep a spray bottle of water and spray Freddie when you see he is heading towards Moosie. Don't squirt poor Moosie or he will be even more traumatized. Hope this helps. I think you are wonderful people for keeping these cats indoor and rescuing them. We need more people like you.

I'd probably go for a nice ornamental tree of some kind in that back sunny corner and maybe a low to medium height shrub along the base of the wall to hide it a bit. Then you could plant perennials in front of them and annuals too. If that one area is in the shade, you could try a shade garden there with maybe a small fish pond or fountain and an evergreen or two. You could keep some of the stones to make a path to the back and plant some of that pretty moss between them.

I have maroon carpet in my new house...?
We are about to move and the carpet is MAROON! I want to paint the walls but not sure what will match the carpet %26amp; our couches. When she first arrived, i really doubted her so i set up my phone video cam on my room as a surveillance... here are some of the things i found out, she uses my comb (oh my), she eats my chocolate candies, she dances while holding the broom in front of the mirror, she opened my wallet although she did not steal my money, she uses my nose pore strip (for men), she even examined my phone, although she does not know that she is being filmed... I am not the type of person who would go up to her face and swear the life out of her, what can i do?? i wrote a note today in my pore pack saying ';what the heck are you doing again, if you want to use this, please ask!!';, in case she tries to use it again.. Unfortunatley my wonderful new landlord would rather me not drill into the wall so any ideas anyone has as to how I could get this thing done and stable enough to hold quite a lot of electrical equipment would really be appreciated

You could make part of the room into an office/study area, and the other part into a sleeping/ girl hang out area. I'm not sure what you have to work with, and your likes and dislikes-be careful how you answer there are a lot of sick people out there and you don't want to put too much info out on the net!!!

Then I would put the two oldest in the one of the rooms and then put the next two oldest in another and then put the youngest in the other bedroom. OK I was pondering this question. We all know that in many states illegal workers are being used to build new homes and that they are being paid way less than a documented worker or a citizen. But the builders are charging us the full amount as if they were legal.

Painting my new house?
OK so me and my husband just bought a house and we need to paint and carpet the whole thing. Plus tile in the kitchen and bathrooms! so i have been looking around on the web trying to get an idea or some colors that would look good threw out the whole house. Should i stick to similar colors or can every room be different i have no idea? I need pictures to go by with designs and other stuff. Thanks for your help!!Painting my new house?
You can definitely have different colors in different rooms. It's easiest if you have a distinct stopping point between color changes, such as an inside or outside corner. What I did in my house was to paint all of the common areas, such as hallways, stairwell, etc in Antique White. The bedrooms are all different colors, as is the kitchen and the bathrooms. I put up a chair rail in the living room/dining room, and painted below the rail a deep burgundy to set it off. Each room has a different feel, which I was going for. If the room gets alot of light %26amp; you like it, go an off white color. If you dont, then go darker. Or you might see a color the walls turn from the light coming in thru the day ~ (this is how I found the color I liked for my living room ~ off white light grey color).
Then go to Home Depot or Lowe's, or some paint store and pick up a bunch of those little samples they have on the racks.
Also, look at the furniture you're going to place in the room. What colors are they? Write down the colors per room ~ ie Living Room: couch (tan), coffee table (medium stain) love seat (brown), etc.
For instance, say you have a blue armchair %26amp; a tan/khaki couch ~ you could do a beach theme or something with red %26amp; lighthouses and go coastal.
Also look at how the house is set up. If the kitchen flows into the dining area (no separation) then the areas need to flow a little bit together. If the rooms are separated, then you have a little more choice as to colors, themes, or look you're wanting. Drawing a floor plan also helps here. Not just to figure out how the house sits but how to place furniture as well.
Also think of things you like to do too. Maybe being outdoors %26amp; taking a walk on a trail or relaxing at the beach, maybe watching sports. Make a list.
After looking at these things, then I'd start looking for color. There's places all over online that can help you find the look that you're looking for.

Next, interview several Realtors and get a feel from how fast properties in your sales price range are selling. This will tell you whether or not to begin looking immediately.
Ideally, you want to sign on your sale and your purchase on the same day. That isn't always possible but your buyer's will have 30 days leeway from the time they sign papers until they have to move in to the home so you could always do a rent back agreement for that period if you neeeded some extra time.
Your purchase agreement, if necessary, can specify that your offer is subject ot your home being sold.

I am allergic to cats when I bought my house it was with mice field mice. I called an exterminator and he put down black boxes with the green block of poison in it. When you see their droppings are green they are dead. But combat I think has a trap that spins shut once the mouse goes in and you can release it outside, but if it is close to your house they will come right back in as they think that is their own home. My son was 3 when we went through this it was hell for about a month. Oh the sticky traps my son came to me with about half his hand stuck to it and it was hell getting all that **** off but with aid of baby oil that helped. The sticky traps with a 2 year old around don't recommend it!

Do you have a cat? Try using hedge balls. or hedge apples. They are a green bumpy ball that looks like a grannie smith apple that has the mumps. get a few and put them around the house. After a while they will start to age with time. They will turn brown to black and shrink. That is a good thing for that to happen. Put them onto a plastic butter top if you have an extra one or two. They will stain from what I was told. You just want to protect whatever your going to set the ball on. They give off an odor to the pests and it will deture them from the house. You can't smell them. DON'T THROW THEM AWAY WHEN THEY LOOK ROTTEN! that's when the magic begins. Replace them with new ones around every 6 months to 1 year. Just keep the old ones around. I've gotton 8 at one time because of a mouse that i saw 2 years ago. The mice are going where its warm. You can put the balls anywhere so you don't have to worry about the little one. You could also try the sticky traps. Hope that helps. The hedge balls also help with spiders. Google Hedge apples or balls. Hope that helps.
Use a snap trap. Bait it with a bit of peanut butter and put it under your counters or somewhere your two year old can't get to it. Or you could use a live trap - I use the Tin Cat. Mice can go in but cannot get back out again. I have actually caught 14 mice in one night. Take the trap to a park or field away from your house and turn the mice loose. We took ours to the park and the ducks chased and ate them. Who knew ducks liked mice?
you could use traps. spring action traps if you want it dead or glue traps if you want to catch it alive and use it for whatever. i personally just leave acid in sugar cubes laying around my house. the mice trip so much balls they go into an infinite acid coma and they don't hassle me anymore. plus, when i feel like it i just eat a sugar cube or two and explore my subconscious. good luck.

Wedding/new house/baby?
I have a big thing to ask! We got married privately, got a new house and had a baby all in the same month. Complicated yes but it was in the winter and we are finally settled and everyone wants to come see the house (some havent seen baby yet) and just kinda have an open house. This sound really stupid, but my dad brought 400yr old house, and in one Bedroom it went really cold even in the middle of Summer on a regular basics, and a smoky haze would appear from no where, now if I was the only one to seen and felt this, then fair enough, I'd say it was me. This may be because he is in new surroundings. How long ago did you move? He may need some time to adjust. You might have to re-train him. My old dog was like that when we moved but she was only 2 years old. If you have to, get a baby gate or something to keep him in a separate room when guests come. This way he will be able to see that having people around isnt a bad thing. But make sure that whatever you do, you dont just lock him in a room where he wouldnt be able to observe. Hope i helped. He is protecting your new house and taking on alpha of the pact and you need to make sure he knows he's not the boss. Also its a strange behaviour for a dog thats never done this before and behaviour problems like this can also indicate there is something medically wrong and it wouldn't hurt to ask your vet about this as a percaution. So take ur dog on walks and get him to know the area. let him make friends. let him get used to the people andmaybe if u can visit sometimes go to the place u used to live . I hope this will help u. U just need to feel and think like ur dog try to get an even closer bond with him!

I think the new house is just a coincidence and there's something else going on with him. He should see his vet for a complete geriatric check-up including blood work. That'll tell you if it's something physical. Dogs don't just change their personalities because they move to a new house.
Given his age, it could also be cognitive dysfunction syndrome - something else to ask your vet about. It shows up in lots of different behaviours and there's help for it if that's what his problem is.

f a man was about to divorce his wife, says he is seperated but still stays at the marital home because they have a young son... would he buy a new second house at this stage? Or if he did, would she be entitled to this second house too in the impending divorce procedure? In uk

They can connect to your wireless network if u give them the password or the (KEY); and only if they have a built in wi-fi adapter or a wireless network card on their laptop. You will not need to buy anything new; and most new laptops have the built in wi-fi built into them.
If you haven't set up a password ie (ur network is not encrypted) please do so, so that u can avoid loosing the speed of ur internet connection when ur neighbour connects to ur wireless network and starts working on it.

I just purchased my first house, I'm putting 96.00 in my 401k every two weeks, and once all my bills are paid, I have roughly $180.00 left over per week to do whatever. What should I do with it? That is factoring in the fact that I spend about 40.00/week in gas, and about 40/week in food. I'm trying to save as much as I can. I want to retire when I'm in my 50's. I'm 25 now. I suggest you maximize your employer's matching contribution to your 401k. If they will match more $ that you have to deposit, you get an automatic 100% return on your money. So, put at least some of that $180 into the 401k. If you increase your contribution to $150 and assuming a 10% return, your nest egg would grow to $740,000. And all these calculations do not account for any contributions your employer might be making.
If you don't want to increase the 401k contribution, you could go with a Roth IRA. With a Roth, you can withdraw $ for education of a dependent. (Consult a tax adviser.)
I would really suggest, though, that you get every $ you can get from your employer. If they will match your contribution up to, say, 5% of your income, then put in your 5%. I have done just that throughout my career and I am now retired at age 52. I only need to work about 2 days a week now, and only when I want to. (Your results may vary.)

I get really scared at my new house!! Help?!?
My husband and I just recently purchased our first home. Its in a small town, and on a really nice street, but I get really scared in the evenings and at night when my husband is not home. I do not know if we can afford a security alarm system. I don't want my husband to know how I get scared because I don't want him to think I don't like the house. Any advice for how to fix my problem of being scared?I get really scared at my new house!! Help?!?
a dog is a good security alarm and would be a good companion when your husbands gone. you can get a dog pretty cheap at a shelter if moneys an issue. I get really scared at my new house!! Help?!?
Well, as far as an alarm system goes, I installed a wireless alarm system in the house. It's not that difficult to do. I used http://www.homesecuritystore.com/ They had good prices, and lots of options. They can be setup to just go off. They can call your cell phone if they go off, or you can use central station monitoring.

Bulbs burning out like crazy in new house, please help!?
We built our house only 1.5 years ago and have already replaced several burned out bulbs and now the bottom (bake) element of our new (also 1.5 years old) oven has burned out and cost us $75 to replace. We started using 130 volt bulbs as recommended to us by the electric company but that hasn't helped. What could be causing this?Bulbs burning out like crazy in new house, please help!?

so my mom got her friends to come over and fix the basement
when they was tearing the walls down in the bathroom on top of the ceiling about 100 or more razors blades came falling outta of nowhere and we found a ring and a 1970's newpaper.
Does anyone know what is up with that?

Bathroom cabinets used to include a slit in the back, for that express purpose. (This was a safety measure, so people would not toss their old, flat, double-sided razor blades into the trash can. Imagine trying to dig out a receipt or misplaced note in the trash and being surprised by a razor blade.)
The ring was probably misplaced by someone. Is it valuable? Even if it does not contain a genuine gemstone, it may be worth something as an antique. you may wish to have it appraised.
The 1970s newspaper, if it is in good condition, might be valuable to a collector.
According to the newspaper, the house must be at least 30+ years old . . . .Well my grandma just brought this new house it about 50years old.?
In the back of older bathroom mirrors there used to be a slit where people were supposed to put their used razor blades in. They just used fall behind the sheetrock. You just found a spot where they fell thats all.
In old medicine cabinets there was a slot for razor blades, which were called double edge. Apparently there was this kind of medicine cabinet at one time and you opened the spot where the blades had been deposited and fallen down into the wall.
The ring and the newspaper just got in there somehow, during some sort of renovation or someone dropped it into the wall.
