I'd be slightly upset - one problem to consider is whether the infrastructure i.e. shops, school, hospital, roads etc can cope with the influx of people, and whether you are prepared to see you idyll changed radically and forever. If you want to stop it then object, but make sure you galvanise the support of the village to oppose the plan together. As a group you may be able to buy land strategically, which would prevent the developers having sufficient access to the proposed estate. What are your views if a new housing estate was planned for your lovely rural village?
People have got to live somewhere......What are your views if a new housing estate was planned for your lovely rural village?
progress rolls on
There was one built a year ago just next to my village and I don't mind it being there at all.
It would all depend on what type of houses. If it was a posh estate with high priced houses then No as there are plenty around already, but if it was a new development of council / housing association homes then i would not object since people are crying out for these homes and it would be selfish to object to people getting somewhere to live by someone who already has a lovely home of their own.
....great now my grown up children can continue to live in the place they grew up.
Planned? As in everything is done? If it is not done, usually there are public hearings in which you could vocalize any objections you have.
It depends on what the developer is doing. Is the developer cramming a bunch of cookie cutter houses on tiny lots? Or is it a more upscale development that will fit with the village?
Happening as we speak in our village, beautiful stone built houses and bungalows for a housing association for the senior age group.
Cannot wait for it`s completion.
My names on one of them.
Then it seems your views won't be there for very long.
